Futura Type Specimen
One of my earliest print projects, and still one of my favorites. This was the assignment that first revealed my love for typographic layout and spread design.
The brief was simple: choose a typeface and showcase it. I chose Futura, Paul Renner's 1927 geometric sans-serif, and built a thematic world around it. The booklet pairs Futura's near-perfect geometric construction with a rugged mountain wilderness aesthetic, letting the contrast between precise geometry and raw nature do the talking.
What made this project click was realizing that a typeface specimen doesn't have to feel clinical. Futura has been used on everything from NASA mission patches to Volkswagen ads — it carries a spirit of exploration and modernism. The mountain theme was a way to honor that.
